Well… here’s a copy of mine. I edited the personal info. to keep it off the internet.

Highlight and paste the following info into word… hopefully it will go back to the correct format. Bold your headings and try to keep it under 2 pages. (I’ve been struggling with this!)

As a student teacher, I designed and implemented lesson plans for four class: English I (9th grade Basic composition), English II (10th grade Short Stories), English III (11th grade Poetry), and Advanced English (11th and 12th grade Drama). I created a welcoming environment for students to learn and embrace literature, while utilizing modern sources of video, literature, and drama to keep students interested in the classics. I administered a variety of assessments such as projects, small group work, assessment games and puzzles, tests, and quizzes and, in doing so, I affectively prepared students for state standardized tests.

Chambersburg Area MS, Pennsylvania. Spring 2006

As a student teacher, I designed and implemented lesson plans for 7th Grade English. I encouraged students to embrace their imaginations and creativity with the use of drama, creative writing, crafts, music, video, and independent reading. I focused on poetry and grammar. I participated in team meetings and team functions. I planned and helped develop educational activities for three days of state standardized testing. I altered classes to support my students’ needs and abilities.

Philosophy of Education
A school is similar to a planet: one must break through many complex layers before reaching the core. The crust or surface of this particular planet consists of communities, all with varied levels of diversity. Those on the surface often have a need or a want for education and schooling in order to fulfill their individual prophecies of life. Within the many communities and lifestyles the individuals thrive from education on a daily basis, from life until death. Still, in order for the society to grow, they must be schooled. So below the surface there are teachers to fill the emptiness with knowledge and to allow for the other aspects of the student to continue growing in their individual cultures. The parents of these students expect the teacher to agree or at least support all of their beliefs.
Not only do the parents expect a teacher to have a strong code of ethics and be able to influence their children as individuals, the teacher is left with many other influences on their own skills. The mantle of the planet, or the layer under the core, consists of the upper administration, such as the principal and the superintendent. The core relies on the local government and the innermost core controls all: the national government.
The teacher is one of the most highly regarded influences in society among families of all creeds. They are responsible to convey as much knowledge as necessary in a practical and reasonable manner. They must give the students a chance to respond and reflect on their viewpoints, in order to build their own characters and knowledge. The environment must be kept in control, in order to stay beneficial to the learning of the child; therefore, although the students shall be given their freedom to learn, the teacher must be somewhat of a disciplinarian while maintaining a respectful environment. The individuals are what build a village, not the societal molds of mankind and the teacher should keep this in mind at all times.
Since class discussions are a necessity in many fields, especially the field of English and its literary arts, it is very important that the students be responsive. In order to fulfill their participation goal it is necessary for their assignments to be complete and for their goals along with the teacher’s goals to be set at realistic standards. They shall remain respectful to all in the classroom and be given a chance to help one another as well as ask any appropriate questions to the teacher. And once and for all, they shall be given the opportunity to be themselves and the chance to communicate opinions to the class. Opinions are never right or wrong, they are a part of the mind that should be locked away from all ridicule.
All the layers of the school serve as a single foundation. Within these doors of safety the children are given an environment to socialize, find their innermost talents, and build their own desirable futures from what began as only distant dreams.

Besides setting all margins to 1″, the most important criteria for setting up a professional resume besides relevant text, is “scanability.” Here are some helpful tips:

1. Place just below your identification header [your hame, address, phone, email address] any Conditional Warning Statement such as “Confidential Resume,”Do Not Contact Current Employer,” etc.
2. Always fill-in an Objectives category [just below the Conditional Warning Statement] and make sure that he Objective will contribute to the profitability of your future employer;
3. Select a mono-type font such as Helvetica, Arial, Courier or Times Roman; do not select any cursive handwriting styles which cannot scanned;
4. Keep font sizes within a range of 10 to 12 pts.;
5. Avoid styling text with a justified alignment, keep it flushed left;
6. Instead of using tabs to set up blocked text entries, generate a table and use the column and row settings accordingly;
7. Do not place an i.d. picture anywhere on the resume, this is a major taboo due to discrimination issues;
8. Do not place any graphic text [saved as .gifs] onto the resume since it may be overlooked during the scanning phase;
9. List at the very end of the resume your interests which should include travel experiences, language skills, social interactions such as golf, team sports, tennis, etc.

In conclusion, the above helpful hints were designed to allow ease of scanning of your resume into PDF which can then be text captured for seach purposes by your potential employer. Failure to conform the resume to appropriate fonts and styles as outlined above will result in rejection of the resume simply due to the inability of the scanning device to properly index relevant resume entries.

Good luck!
